Green Likes Unique Aspect About Cyclones

Religion is a very important part in the life of Madison (TX) High School's Andrew Green. "It's just very important to me," he said. "It's always going to be a part of me. That's who I am all about."

Due to this fact, the 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback likes what he has seen from Iowa State. "They really have a religious coaching staff and I really like Coach Chizik," said Green. "He seems down to earth and its good that he is a very religious person also."

Green said there is something else he likes about Chizik. "From what I've heard he's a real good coach with developing defensive backs," he said. "It's nice that he's coached Thorpe Award winners and helped them get to the NFL."

Green currently has scholarship offers from Purdue, Missouri, Iowa State, Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, and Alabama A&M but feels that two stick out the most. "I wouldn't say I have any favorites yet but Iowa State and Nebraska are recruiting me the hardest," he said. "I will likely visit them and Kansas also in the fall."

Andrew said that Iowa State's recruitment of him has really picked up over the last few months. "Coach Rodgers came down to see me workout and we talk about every couple of weeks."

Green is not sure where he will end up but he did say playing in the Big 12 would have its advantages. "It's just very exciting and the competition is really high," he said. "The atmosphere seems amazing and playing in front of those crowds would be great."
