Schwarz Has Fruitful Camp Trips

Will Schwarz has had a little bit of everything recently. From close, instate visits to Michigan and Michigan State to traveling to the west coast and Stanford, the Troy (MI) linebacker has crossed the country showing his talents. He talked about those visits and the possibility of more offers.

Not only is Will Schwarz one of the top linebackers on the gridiron in the state of Michigan, he is also one of the best in the classroom. As part of his search to find the best combination of football and academics he can, the 6'5, 215-lb Schwarz recently went out to Paolo Alto, CA.

"I just got back from Stanford," Schwarz said, "I have not received an offer, but had a great one on one visit and tour. I really liked the campus and the coaches liked my leg strength, explosiveness and GPA."

A few weeks back, Schwarz went to Ann Arbor and camped for a day with the Wolverines, I did really well at U of M," he reported, "and the coaches told me I wasn't going anywhere but Ann Arbor. I was asked a lot of questions really on who the heck I was and where I came from. I also had a great tour and ate lunch in the film room at U of M and by the end of the camp I was invited [to run] with the elite to the smokehouse [race]."

Schwarz currently holds offers from Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Buffalo. Some schools have expressed interest in him as a defensive end, a position he is open to playing.

Now finished with camps for the time being, Schwarz has been on the hardwood, playing basketball with his Colt teammates. His ability on the court also translates to football and he recently showed he has the athletic ability to stay at linebacker as well.

"I also had a great time at Michigan State and had my best shuttle time of 4.4." he said.

As a junior, Schwarz had 84 tackles and six sacks.
