Dukes State's Second Commit of the Day

New York running back's announcement for the Nittany Lions became public shortly after Gress made it official. Dukes had intended to wait to make up his mind, but in the end wanted to get the big decision out of the way.

Just hours after news of Adam Gress' commitment to Penn State became public Wednesday, word broke of another Nittany Lion verbal. New York running back Curtis Dukes reported he is heading to Happy Valley, too.

"I committed to Penn State yesterday," Dukes said. "I called Coach [Mike] McQueary and he was really excited. I just wanted to get it out of the way so I could concentrate on my senior season."

Dukes attended PSU's recent senior camp, where he measured in at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds. He reported that he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.

Earlier this week, Dukes told FOS he intended to hold off on a commitment until making a visit to PSU with his mother later this summer. But those plans obviously changed Wednesday.

"I am still going to visit with my mom sometime soon," Dukes reported. "But I am done [with recruiting]. I am calling all the other coaches now and letting them know."
