ScoutTV: WR Jamal Smith

Oxnard (Calif.) receiver Jamal Smith, one of the sleeper prospects in the Southland this year, and a commit to Utah, is shown here in action from his 2007 junior season for the Yellowjackets...

Oxnard (Calif.) receiver Jamal Smith (6-2, 190), committed to Utah earlier this spring, but schools are still trying to make their pitch.

Smith has also been offered by San Jose State and he camped at Washington last month in hopes of landing another offer, and his first from the Pac-10.

A big, rangy receiver, Smith has decent speed, but is at his best in the open field and can make the tough catch. He's a good route runner and has good hands, just needs to become a little more explosive.

As a junior, Smith had 31 receptions for 594 yards and three touchdowns and averaged 37 yards a punt in 2007.

Here he is in clips from his junior season.
