In-State Lineman Is A Blue Devil

The commitment train rolled on over the weekend as the Blue Devils landed another pledge from the Old North State. Jamestown (N.C.) Ragsdale offensive lineman Joey Finison told the coaches on Saturday that he was going to Duke.

"We were there for a tour and to get some more information, and it just kind of happened," said Joey Finison. "I got offered by them last week actually, and when I made the trip I knew it was the time."

Finison, who chose Duke over offers from Elon and East Carolina; and interest from other in-state schools such as NC State and Wake Forest, measures out at 6-foot-4 and 290lbs. He projects as a guard after a year of redshirting.

"For me the plan with Duke is just too good to pass up. I will get a great education and the program is heading in the right direction. That all goes to Coach Cutcliffe. The players and coaches really believe in him, and so do I.

Finison is the 11th commitment from the class of 2009 for the Blue Devils.
