Cathedral and Carmel had a national stage on ESPN Saturday and they showed the country that Indiana is not just a basketball state. was on hand for this exciting contest and got snapshots of the many heavily recruited players in the contest.

Fresh off his commitment to Kentucky, Morgan Newton looked like a player who had gotten a big burden off his shoulders. However, he normally is a calm, poised player under center, so the decision likely made no difference.

The TV camers clearly didn't as Newton showed no signs of nerves, finishing with 191 yards on 16 for 21 passing, two touchdowns through the air as well as two on the ground to go with 91 rushing yards in leading a come from behind victory over Cathedral.

Among the other top recruits in the game were Carmel OT Brooks Michel, a Minnesota commitment and fullback Kurt Freytag and FS Joe Rippe, both of whom have FBS offers. Cathedral brought highly regarded OT Kyle Koehne and athletic defensive end/linebacker Kakpindi Jamiru. Here are some shots from the game with full scouting reports to come.
