Silberman Football Diary #2

The Florida Gators landed arguably the state's top three offensive lineman in the class of 2009 and turned their attention to the class of 2010 with a huge pick up from yet again on of the state's top offensive linemen in Ian Silberman. Earlier this week, Silberman received his written offer from UF.

Sunday - Reviewed film from last week's game against Bartram. We went to church and relaxed.

Monday - Watched film on Middleburg High, the team we are playing this week. Coaches had to get the film from Forrest High because Middleburg does not play well with others. We will be the better men and play fair while beating them Thursday night. We are playing Thursday due to the pending inclement weather. After viewing the film, we lifted weights and had a short practice. After practice, coach Chip handed me my official offer from the University of Florida...and it was my first and only...that day. Yeah I was happy, still am. Got emails from coach Meyer and coach Mullen. We had people over to celebrate Labor day. My mom did all the cooking and grilling...a preview to my birthday BBQ.

Tuesday - Three more offers, University of Miami, NC State and Florida International University. Had a really good practice. Ate my lunch at 8:15 a.m. and expected one of the parents to bring me more to eat. Man was I wrong. Learned how to giggle in sign language. Next I will learn GATOR. Another good day at school. Spoke with coach Mullen and we will be in Gainesville before 5:00 for the Gator Walk. He asked if my mom was wearing the Orange and Blue. She's not ready yet. Still mourning the black and red but she said if I bought it, she would wear it. She's looking at the Gator gear, and that's a good sign. She buys it for everyone, but herself. One day, maybe before the season is over.

Til tomorrow sports fan...Ian.
