Six Offers for Kadeem Custis

Neumann-Goretti High School lineman Kadeem Custis is currently being recruiting by schools to play either defensive end in a 3-4 scheme or offensive tackle, both positions he is fine with playing. At this point he is holding six written scholarship offers and has interest from a handful of other programs too.

Philadelphia, Pa., offensive lineman Kadeem Custis goes 6-foot-5, 270 pounds, so while most schools like him at offensive tackle it's easy to see why a program running a three man front would like his size at the defensive end position holding the point of attack. We caught up with him recently to see where his recruiting is at right now.

"Right now I have written offers from West Virginia, Pittsburgh, Temple, North Carolina State, Duke and ECU," Custis said. "West Virginia is definitely at the top of the list followed by Pittsburgh, Temple and North Carolina State in that particular order."

"I really like defensive line coach Bill Kirelawich down at West Virginia because he's a really fiery guy and I love that intensity," Custis explained. "I've been down there twice and I'm taking another unofficial visit to see them play Auburn in two weeks. The entire team is like a family there. They're recruiting me at defensive end."

"Coach Tony Wise at Pitt is really good at what he does and won a few Super Bowls in the NFL, so because they're recruiting me as an offensive tackle that makes me feel pretty confident in them," Custis offered. "Right now I've been talking to the coaches trying to set up my official visit, but I know for a fact it will be in December."

Maryland, Illinois, North Carolina, Rutgers and Virginia are all showing interest in Custis as well.
