Committed LB keeping options open

Duran Lowe is a three-star linebacker prospect from Plant City High in Florida and he talked to Scout.com about the latest.

"I had sprained my ankle earlier in the season," Duran Lowe. "I'm just now back to 100-percent. We play Armwood this week so that'll be a big test for us. They beat us 14-10 last year."

Lowe, 5-foot-10 and 215 pounds, is playing both linebacker and running back but is being recruited for his talents on the defensive side of the ball.

"I'm still a soft commitment to Wake Forest," he said. "Recruiting's been going good but it hasn't been booming or anything lately. I'm going on a visit to Wake Forest next weekend so I'm looking forward to that."

In addition to getting weekly calls from the Wake Forest coaches, Lowe said he's still hearing from an in-state school.

"I'm still talking to Florida," he said. "They've been calling and I've been going to their games. I really like the atmosphere there on gameday and they're winning."

Lowe, who doesn't have an offer from the Gators, said there's another in-state school he'd like to hear from.

"My coach has talked to the Miami coaches," he said. "I went down there for their game against Florida State. Miami's a great program and I'd like to talk to them about maybe setting something up to go down and check it out."

Lowe is excited about checking out Wake, the school he committed to earlier in the year.

"They're on the way up and having a good year," he said. "They beat Florida State and I think there's a good opportunity there for me."
