Florida QB has two visits set

Nico Ranieri is a two-star quarterback prospect from Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips and Scout.com caught up with him to discuss the latest on the recruiting front.

"I have two visits scheduled right now -- one to Colorado State for November 15th and one to Middle Tennessee State for January 17th," Nico Ranieri said. "I'm still working on dates for the other ones."

Ranieri said he has offers from both of those schools and is hoping another one comes through soon.

"Boston College called me the other day and they said they saw my film and liked me," he said. "Their quarterbacks coach doesn't offer quarterbacks until he meets them in person so they want me to come up on an official visit to meet him and to check out the place. We haven't nailed down the exact date yet but I'll be going up there and hopefully everything will go well and they'll offer me."

The talented quarterback is favoring a school that's already offered but an offer from BC could change that.

"I have Colorado State at the top right now," he said. "Of the schools that have offered me, they have the best situation for a quarterback and they only plan on taking one this year. But I must say, if Boston College were to offer me, I'd put them at number one on my list."

Ranieri has helped lead his Dr. Phillips team to a 6-1 record so far this season. A win tomorrow coupled with a Boone win against Freedom would set up a district championship game against Boone next week.

"It's going real well," he said. "We're real excited. I've thrown for about 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns so far this season in those seven games."
