The 6-0 160 pound prospect not only plans on playing football at the college level, he also plans on pursuing a basketball career as well. The ability to play both sports has attracted him to the Gophers. He holds offers from other football programs where the basketball program will allow him to walk on - Kansas, Missouri, Southern Illinois- but the combination of actually playing and contributing to a quality football and basketball program has peeked his interest. Then add the fact that he is fond of Head Basketball Coach Tubby Smith and that was enough to make Allen want to visit.
"First of all, as basketball is concerned, I wold love to be a part of that program. I know a lot about Coach Smith. He is a great guy and the basketball program is top notch. As for football, I don't know much about them. I know they're doing well this year and that they're up and coming. They're getting a new facility and that shows the school is willing to do what it takes for the program. With the way things are progressing, I think I'd fit in. Be apart of something big in the future."
Talking with the Maplewood - Richmond Heights coach, he informed Scout.com that Allen's dominant senior season has attracted more schools. Oregon, Boston College, and UCLA, among others are inquiring about more film and making a strong push towards landing him.
Scout.com will get an update on Allen later this weekend to get the details of his visit. Stay tuned!!!
