Atchison visits Alabama, greets coaches

Jonathan Atchison, three-star strongside linebacker from Atlanta-Douglass, (Ga.), committed to Auburn before the start of the season. Atchison traveled to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl to take a closer look at both teams.

"The visit went real good," said Jonathan Atchison. "I talked to the whole coaching staff. They showed me a lot of love. The fans were crazy. They were hollering my name. It was all good."

"Coach Saban basically said I was one of their top guys. He is not going to stop recruiting me until it's done. The fact they stayed with me with me committed to Auburn. They are No. 1 in the nation and have stayed undefeated. I like it a lot. It's a real good thing."

Alabama ended a six game win streak against the Auburn Tigers, and Atchison kept a close watch on the Tide's defense.

"Alabama's defense shut them down Saturday," he stated. "I like the intensity. They move to the ball real good. I liked it a lot."

"I like everything about Alabama. I like the coaches, players and fans. I really love everything about Alabama."

Atchison committed to Auburn over Alabama when he gave his verbal pledge to the Tigers in August.

"It's real close right now between Auburn and Alabama," he explained. "I am still committed to Auburn, but it's close. I am going to take my visits. I am a soft commitment, but I am still committed. I am going to take my visits and go from there."

Atchison received a visit from a couple of Auburn coaches after his trip to Tuscaloosa.

"Coach [James] Willis and coach [Paul] Rhoads came to my house Sunday," Atchison said. "The visit went real good. Coach Willis explained to my family why they wanted me so bad. He told me what they are trying to do. It went real good."

"I like coach Willis a lot. I think he is a real cool guy. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. He tells you like it is."
