"Coach Tub was the main reason I committed"

The Iron Bowl is over, a rather decisive win for the Crimson Tide. Yet now, with Coach Tommy Tuberville out as Head Coach at Auburn, the Iron Bowl has (ironically) picked up steam...only this time it's on the field of recruiting.

"Coach Tub was the main reason I committed in the first place," Jonathan Atchison shared. "But it doesn't really affect my decision to stay committed to Auburn.

How does this affect the status of what has recently become a soft commitment to the Tigers?

"I'm just going to sit down with my family and weigh other options I have with other schools.

I am aware of the fact that Alabama has been on you for quite some time, and it now appears that you are seriously considering them.

"They (Alabama) have been on me ever since I committed to Auburn," he said. "So it has been a battle."

Are you going to take an Official Visit, just so you can find out more about them?

"Yes Sir," he shared. "I'm going on January 16th."

Are you at least going to wait for a coach to get hired before you decide between Auburn and Alabama?

"No Sir," he said. "I'm just going to sit down with my family and if the time is right, I'll decide."

Atchison holds multiple SEC offers.
