Not surprisingly, four-star wide receiver Jheranie Boyd has been one of the top performers this week at the Shrine Bowl. In fact he's performed at such a high level, don't be surprised if he is moved to up to five stars by Scout.com in the coming weeks.
While he remains committed to North Carolina, CUTigers.com caught up with the stand out wide receiver Wednesday to see if he's still considering other visits, including one to Clemson:
Boyd: I feel like I am doing good. I am coming up with some big catches out there and making the DB's better.
How is the offense coming along with the game plan?
Boyd: I feel like we are coming along pretty good. I've learned the offense pretty easy. We go over it plenty of times. We read the playbooks at night time. So it is not really that hard.
What are your goals for the game Saturday?
Boyd: I want to make big plays and lead this team to a victory.
Do you think you will take an official visit to Clemson?
Boyd: I really don't know. I haven't really been focusing on taking visits or anything. This week I have just been concentrating on trying to get this offense down pat and getting the game plan right.
Are you going to wait until after the Under-Armour All American game to make that decision?
Are guys trying to recruit you a little this week?
Boyd: J.K. Jay and Malliciah are still trying to get me. They are telling me to wear that orange and everything, but we are just joking around. There are like 10 of us from North Carolina that are committed. We have fun and we are building a close bond.
What was the hospital visit like for you on Sunday?
Boyd: It was very interesting. Seeing how the kids are different from us. They don't have the same abilities as us. It really humbles you in a way, but it was pretty interesting.
