Phillipy to Albany

Camp Hill, Pa., product William Phillipy has given a verbal commitment to Albany to play on the offensive side of the ball after having an extremely productive senior season for Trinity High School. While he is committed to Albany, he is still considering some other schools, but hasn't set visits.

William Phillipy, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound tight end from Trinity High School committed to Albany recently, however he is still going to take some time and check out a few other schools as well just to make sure. We caught up with him this weekend to talk about his options.

"I am solid to Albany now and don't have any officials set up, however I am definitely looking at Navy and Villanova too," Phillipy said. "I like Albany because they have a really good program and also because I'll have a chance to play really soon as they really have nothing at tight end right now."

"My other option was to attend Penn State for track, but you don't get scholarship money as a freshman, so that is out."

As a senior, Phillipy had 80 tackles and six sacks on the defensive side of the ball. He also had over 800 receiving yards and caught 11 touchdown passes on his way to being named first-team All-League and All-Conference on both offense and defense.
