Spence Meets With Coach Price

Fort Walton Beach (FL) defensive tackle Akeem Spence talks recruiting with Cyclone Sports Report after meeting this week with new Iowa State defensive line coach Terry Price.

"Coach Price came yesterday to my school," said Spence. "He told me that they have a huge need on the defensive line and that I have an opportunity to come in and start next year. He said that I would play the 3-technique."

Akeem clearly enjoyed his meeting with Coach Price. "It went great and he seems like a pretty cool guy," he said. "He seems like a guy that I could play for."

The 6-foot-1, 285-pound defensive tackle says that he has not connected with Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads yet but expects to in the near future. "He's supposed to call me this week or after the dead period," he said. "I'm also going to call (Iowa State freshman) Dustin Land who lives near me to get more information on the new staff."

Akeem has three leaders at the moment but is not close to a final decision. "My top three are Iowa State, Illinois, and N.C. State and they are all even at the moment," said Spence. "I probably won't make my decision until signing day."
