Conner Contemplates Visits

David Conner was a name that most high school football fans in the state of Mississippi were familiar with. The talented defensive back committed to Auburn earlier in the process before reopening his recruitment after a coaching change on the Plains. With a few weeks left, David's future is still unsettled.

"This past weekend I went to UAB," said All-State selection David Conner. "It went great. I don't have an offer from them yet, but I think they might offer. I liked all the coaches. They were a lot like my high school coaches. They really stressed academics. There is something different about them. I am looking for a place that is serious about academics and that feels like home. I had a great time over there."

Conner has a trip to the Natural State planned for next weekend, but the final two weekends are earmarked for schools from BCS conferences.

"I am going to Arkansas Tech this weekend," said David. "I am supposed to be going to Ole Miss the next weekend and the last weekend I am not sure about. I am just going to think about that. I am thinking about Auburn or Texas Tech."

Several schools are still maintaining some form of contact with the South Panola standout.

"Ole Miss, Southern Miss, MSU, Arkansas, UAB and Auburn are all still recruiting me some," said Conner. "I had an Ole Miss coach come by the school and a coach from UAB come by too."

There has been talk that David may re-commit to Auburn, sign with Ole Miss or go a different direction entirely. It does not appear anything will be settled until early next month.

"It's probably going to be signing day before I do anything," said David. "I am just not sure yet what I am going to do."
