Did visit sway committed QB any?

Nico Ranieri is a talented quarterback prospect from Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips and after making an out-of-state commitment a few weeks ago, he took an in-state visit this past weekend. Scout.com caught up with him to discuss it and the recruiting process in general.

"I took an official visit to UCF over the weekend," Nico Ranieri said. "It was good. I was surprised I liked it as much as I did. It was more than I thought it would be. I like what they're doing over there."

Ranieri, 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, spoke more about the visit.

"We went out on Friday night and then took an academic tour on Saturday," he said. "I really liked the facilities and the coaches. I got along with all the players real well and Orlando is home for me. I had a real good time."

Ranieri made a commitment to Colorado State a few weeks ago after enjoying an official visit there. What does the UCF visit mean in all that?

"It didn't really have any impact," he said. "Not right now, at least. I am still strong with my commitment to Colorado State. I really like the coaches there and the opportunity I'll have."

The talented quarterback prospect said he's done with his official visits for now but something could come up later.

"I'm done with my visits for now," he said. "The only other one I'd take would be to Boston College. I talked to them last Friday. They said they'll let me know about an offer after they get their coaching situation straightened out. If they offer me, I'll take a visit up there to see what it's like and to see how I like it."
