Decision Looming For NorCal OT

San Mateo (Calif.) Serra offensive lineman David Bakhtiari has two leaders with a third trip coming up, but he could make his decision this week...

San Mateo (Calif.) Serra offensive tackle David Bakhtiari (6-4, 266), took his second official visit this past weekend, taking a trip to Colorado.

"It was awesome and it was a beautiful campus," said Bakhtiari. "Blake Behrens, from Arizona, was my host. It was really nice there. The facilities were awesome and it's a big step up from high school."

Bakhtiari also enjoyed meeting with the CU coaches.

"The coaching staff is a great group of guys," said Bakhtiari. "Coach (Mark) Helfrich, the offensive coordinator, is recruiting me."

The previous weekend, Bakhtiari visited Utah, which was his first visit.

"I took a visit the weekend before to Utah," said Bakhtiari. "I had no idea what to expect with Utah. But it was great. I love the snow. The the two places I visited, they're both beautiful campuses."

On Sunday night, the Utah coaches were in Bakhtiari's home for their home visit and Monday morning, the Colorado staff, including head coach Dan Hawkins, visited.

"I'm getting ready to make a decision soon," said Bakhtiari. "I've seen some beautiful places and now I'm going to sit down with my options and just see what school is best. I have a feeling it might happen this week but it could extend to signing day. I'm just going to evaluate all the schools I have, all the qualities I need, football wise, the campus, where I want to be living, and make a decision."

Bakhtiari is scheduled to visit UTEP this weekend, but is uncertain if it will be taken.

"I still have my trip to UTEP next weekend," said Bakhtiari. "Those are the three schools I have scholarships too. I'm going try and make the trip to UTEP but it's going to be hard with some of the deadlines I have. So I think a decision could come soon."

Bakhtiari played tackle for Serra and said he's being looked at as both a tackle and guard.

"I'm getting recruited as a tackle, but maybe possibly I'll play guard," said Bakhtiari. "I'm 266, but I want to be up to 275 and I want it all to be good weight."

Bakhtiari was an all-WCAL pick as a 2008 senior.
