2 Orange-Flavored Surprises from Illinois DE

Craig Drummond was a lock to suit up in orange – for Illinois. Now the Syracuse Orange are in the mix.

Craig Drummond, rated as a four-star defensive end by Scout.com, said that he is taking his time to make his college choice.

When asked what schools are recruiting the 6'5", 265-pound prospect hardest right now, Craig said Illinois, Michigan State, and Syracuse.  Drummond is fresh off of a weekend trip to Ole Miss.

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone flew out to Chicago and met with Drummond's parents.  Drummond said he was not there for the meeting, but the Syracuse staff has kept in close contact.

Drummond also said that despite his de-commitment, Illinois is not out of the picture for landing his services.  Craig was one of three Illinois products to play in the Army All-American Bowl at the beginning of January in San Antonio.
