Florida: "I was down at Florida last year for Friday Night Lights and I loved it down there. I loved the competition and the atmosphere was great."
Georgia: "I like Georgia – when they called and offered me, I was real happy. I hadn't heard from them in a while and I plan to go to one of their Junior Days now."
Georgia Tech: "I have spent more time there than anywhere else and I love it there. I feel comfortable around the coaches there and I had a nice talk with Paul Johnson when I was there for Junior Day."
Vanderbilt: "I have not been there yet, but I am going to visit them in a few weeks for Junior Day. I want to visit them and see how I like it there."
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State: "I was surprised by both of these offers and I wasn't expecting either of them. I know they are good schools and I am going to look at them."
So, who is the early leader for Ayers? It is an in-state school.
"I am really feeling Georgia Tech the most right now," he said. "They are really the only school I have visited, so that could change when I see other schools, but they are my leader right now. I have been to Georgia and Florida for camps and I like both of them a lot too, but Georgia Tech is on top right now."
Though it is clear that the junior defensive back has a leader and a trio of schools are high on his list, he is not sure when he will be ready to make that big decision.
"I have only visited Georgia Tech, so I really don't know when I will commit. I know I have to visit some other schools and I am not sure if I will commit early or not yet. I am looking at the offers and I have to look around some more. I could commit at any time I guess if I find a place that I really love."
Ayers has quietly put together a very impressive offer list and he is the top cornerback in the state of Georgia. He has great speed, he breaks on the ball very well, and he has exceptional ball skills.
The talented corner is looking for the perfect fit on and off the field. If he finds that before the 2009 season, then he could make a decision, but if not, he will take the process into the fall.
