Tide offers Miami defensive end

Lynden Trail, Scout.com 300 defensive end from Miami-Booker T. Washington, Fla., added a scholarship offer Friday from the SEC power. Trail is now up to 15 offers as he talked about the latest.

"Alabama offered this morning," said Lynden Trail. "I talked to coach [Bobby] Williams and coach [Nick] Saban today. They told me they like my playing style. They would use me like Terrell Suggs and Jason Taylor at ‘Jack' linebacker. They like to see me at outside linebacker and defensive end."

"I really like the opportunity Alabama would give me. I think it gives me great ability to move around because I am very athletic. I could have more interceptions moving back and playing the ball. I haven't met their coaches yet, but I plan to go up there."

The 6-foot-7 prospect knows Alabama is known for a strong defense and likes what he has seen from the Crimson Tide.

"Alabama is a big time school," Trail said. "They might be one of the schools I take an official visit to. Nick Saban is a big time coach. I know a lot about Alabama. Their defensive scheme is what I really want to play in with the 3-4. I play a 3-4, and I know how everything fits together."

Trail holds more than a dozen scholarship offers and expects to take several visits in the near future.

"We might go up to Tennessee soon," he said. "I do have UF, Florida State and Miami planned as visits. They are unofficial visits. I don't know exactly the dates. I am going to UF and Florida State's spring game."
