New Offers May Mean New Top 5

Just when it seemed that things were somewhat in order, the race essentially down to two, things found a way to get interesting. Kyle Woestmann, standout lineman from Marietta-Walton (GA), was nearing a decision. Fairly certain that teams willing to offer had in fact done so, the play-maker was preparing to put recruiting behind him and set his sights on his senior year...until now.

"I got offers from Ole Miss, Stanford, Boston College and Purdue," the affable Kyle Woestmann said.

Despite the fact that Woestmann has been a Vandy lean for some time, he must be impressed by such a list.

"Well, I really like Boston College's coaching staff," he shared. "And they are a great ACC football program with a rich tradition."

Next is Stanford who has great academics and a strong program," he added. "California is a long way away, but it would be worth it for sure."

And the other two?

"Then there is Ole Miss who has a great coach in Coach Nutt," Woestmann said. "And they are a good SEC program who is only getting better."

Then it's Purdue who has a solid program and a really solid staff."

The question then is who (if anybody) was able to come in and upset the apple cart.

"I am impressed with all four schools, but there are two who are going straight into my Top 5," he shared.

And how does that look now?

"With the addition of these offers, my Top 5 has changed," he said. "At the top is Vandy, followed by UGA, Boston College, Clemson and Stanford."

I may be taking some visits to some of these new opportunities, though."

Woestmann now holds 13 offers and will make a decision soon.
