Rotheram Interested in Eagles

With 26 written offers, Matt Rotheram is arguably the top offensive lineman in the Midwest. Schools from all over the country have extended offers, including most of the Big Ten. Even SEC power LSU has come in with an offer for the talented lineman.

At 6'5" and 305 pounds, Matt Rotheram is being recruited as a guard and a tackle. The fact that he can play both positions at the next level is what makes him so attractive to college recruiters. That also partially explains the very long list of offers.

"I'm not even sure how many offers I have right now. I think it is like 25 or 26. I've lost track at this point. Even LSU has come in with an offer, which was surprising."

With so many schools recruiting him, Matt knows he has to narrow his list down to something manageable. That process has begun informally as he has come up with a list of ten schools to focus on for now.

"Boston College is one of the schools I'm definitely interested in. In my mind I have like ten schools that I'm thinking about and Boston College is one of them. So, when I get down making a list Boston College will be one of them.

"I have a lot of schools into see me this month. BC has been in twice this month. I'd say the schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Boston College, Wisconsin and maybe Indiana. But, a bunch of schools came in twice this month."

Being from the Midwest, it would make sense that the Big Ten has an advantage, with Ohio State the obvious favorite.

"It would be nice to stay in the Midwest, but I'm Ok with just about any location. Ohio State has not offered. It is kind of odd. They told me if I come to camp I'll get an offer. Yet, they just offered some guy from Maryland. I'm pretty sure I'm as good as him, yet they say I have to come to camp."

With his school year just about over, the next step in the process is summer plans.

"School's over June 10th. I have no plans to go anywhere over the summer. I've been all over the place visiting schools. I've been to so many places it has become a drag. At this point, I just want to relax. I know I have to get out to some other places, but I don't want to think about it right now.

"The bottom line right now is I have a list of ten schools and at some point I will get to the schools that I have not visited and maybe make a few return trips. I'll have a top five somewhere at the end of the summer and make a decision at some point during the season. "

Matt is currently listed as the #21 guard in the country by Scout.
