Willis Wright Talks Recruiting

While Florida State has given out well over 100 offers for the 2010 recruiting class there are a large number of talented recruits the Seminole coaches are still in the process of evaluating. One of them is Willis Wright from Miami Springs High. NoleDigest caught up with Willis to get his thoughts on recruiting and where he thinks he'll play on the next level.

The state of Florida is loaded for 2010 as there is a plethora of top flight talent this year. What makes the 2010 class so good is that the talent is deep this year. While the national kids are household names now with recruiting fans, there are recruits like Willis Wright who are flying under the radar.

Scout.com recruiting analyst Chad Simmons says that Willis is a versatile athlete that is put together like a linebacker. Wright has the ability to play safety or wide receiver on the next level because of his size, speed, and athleticism. He has strong hands, he is hard to jam at the line, and he has very good speed at WR. On defense, he is strong, he is physical, and he moves well in space. The versatile athlete's recruitment has been going well as he has several offers, and he says some of the top programs are showing him interest.

"Everything is going well for me," Wright said, "as I have offers from UCF, Miami, FIU, Ole Miss and Purdue. Over the spring a lot of schools came by and a lot of schools have been in contact. Georgia, Florida State, Florida, FIU, Purdue and a whole lot of others came by and I have been in contact with them. I just want all of them to know that I am a good kid and that I can play football."

Willis knows that a lot of schools are looking at him as an athlete, but right now he says he's leaning towards wanting to play offense on the next level.

"I'm an athlete but right now I want to play offense in college," said Wright. "I feel that I am better on offense because of my speed, hands and the routes I run. I get off of the line of scrimmage well and I make plays."

Wright says schools like FSU are under consideration, but he has a list of factors he'll be looking for during his recruitment.

"I like FSU, and I think I can play for them," said Wright. "They've mentioned offense with me but I want to keep my options open. I don't want to redshirt wherever I go, and I want to be around good people, good academics, a good team, and I want to go to a place that can develop me as a person and as a player. Whenever I find that place I'll go ahead and make my decision."

Willis is a recruit FSU fans should keep their eyes on as the coaches are very interested in him. Stay tuned to NoleDigest as we track Willis' recruitment, as well as the rest of the targets for the 2010 class.
