MacArthur's 2010 Class Has Three With Offers

It is the middle of the summer, so it is time to get caught up on who has offers from who as we talk to the coaches around the state on their players being recruited.

For Irving MacArthur High School the 2009 season looks to be promising. They have an all-state caliber running back, a great safety, a wide receiver/linebacker combo who is talented and a defensive end in their senior class all getting college attention. Of course there is some good underclassmen also but the senior class has accumulated 10 offers so far.

Leading the way is all-everything running back James Sims. He rushed for over 1000 yards last year and was equally productive catching the ball.

"James Sims has offers from Kansas, Tulsa, Purdue, UTEP, Utah, North Texas, and Iowa State", said Head Coach Brian Basil.

Next if offers is Ray Mitchell who patrols the secondary for Nimitz.

"Ray Mitchell has offers from Wyoming and Iowa State."

One of the most intriguing prospects is a receiver who averaged over 20 yards a catch last year but who will start at outside linebacker next season.

"Tevin Thompson has an offer from Missouri."

The other class of 2010 player getting division one attention plays defensive end. Last year he had 60 tackles, 4 quarterback pressures, six sacks and one fumble recovery.

"Daniel Vinson has no official offers, but is being recruited by Yale, Samford, UTEP, and Rice."
