DE Corey Crawford Profile
The Clemson coaching staff picked up its fourth verbal commitment in the last 24 hours, nabbing Carver High School (Ga.) defensive lineman Corey Crawford earlier Tuesday.
Crawford, a three-star defensive lineman, was on campus for an unofficial visit.
"I like the coaches at Clemson and the school overall and I think it's a place where I can make a difference," Crawford said. "I liked getting to know Coach Rumph and coach Harbison. They are real good coaches.
"They both have put a lot of people in the league. But Coach Rumph, likes my aggressiveness and speed and I think I will work very well in their scheme."
CUTigers.com also spoke with Crawford's head coach, Dell McGee.
"He also plays basketball. I think he's got a lot upside and he's going to work," McGee said. "He's go the frame to put on a lot of weight. For us, last year, he was a stand up. Once he gets to college, he can really hone in on his pass rushing capabilities."
Crawford, who is the second prospect from Carver to commit to Clemson today and the 13th pledge in the 2010 recruiting class for the Tigers, is currently ranked as the No. 48 defensive end prospect in the country by Scout.com.
The three-star standout chose Clemson over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida State, Maryland, Louisville, Oklahoma State and South Carolina, among others.
He finished his junior season with 70 tackles and seven sacks.
His recruiter of record is defensive backs coach Charlie Harbison.
