Scout On the Road: Indiana

High school football kicks off in Indiana tonight and will be there all weekend to see a pair of high profile prospects. Here is what we are looking for.

Friday - Fort Wayne Harding at Fort Wayne Wayne
We will have our eyes on Ohio State commitment and Harding running back Roderick Smith. Smith could become the all time leading rusher in Indiana state history this season. An impressive combination of size (6'3, 215-lbs)and speed, Smith is a four-star prospect just on the cusp of five. We know he can run, but we will be looking for him doing the other things tonight, blitz pickup, catching the ball and some of the other finer points of the position.

Saturday - South Bend Clay at South Bend Washington
After seeing Smith, we head west to South Bend, where we see Daniel Smith (no relation), Clay's big time wide receiver committed to Notre Dame. Smith is big (6'4, 200) and can go up and get the ball. With his early commitment to the Irish, we did not get to see Smith at any camps this summer, so we are anxious to see how he runs in person. He has great hands and leaping ability, but we will get to see his speed, route running and blocking first hand.

We will have full reports on both games and other prospects we spot in addition to the Smiths as well as photos and video highlights.
