LB Ferlando Bohanna Profile
"Coach Dan Brooks has been talking to me about that defense that they have. Coach Steele is there and they stress that fact," Bohanna said, "and it's going to be a great season there with that defense."
Already holding an offer from the Tigers, he told CUTigers.com recently that another big-time program was added to the list when Mississippi State sent one his way Wednesday night. With offers from Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss he's been in touch mostly with Clemson and Mississippi State.
Bohanna is still learning about the Tigers.
"I really don't know that much about Clemson. From what (Brooks) tells me it's a great school. I just have to take that visit and see what it's about," he said.
Planning to take all five official trips, Bohanna has a list of areas he's going to be looking at this fall.
"The coaching staff, the way that they play the game—the defense, weight program and academic level of the school," he said. "And my family."
Family will play a big role in Bohanna's decision.
"This is going to be a family decision. Family comes first," he said.
On the football field, Bohanna said he's a versatile player.
"I run a 4.4 in the 40. That's a good thing for all the schools to know," he said. "I can cover pretty well and I just like playing that middle. Teams can run that isolation all night long if they want."
During his conversations with Brooks, Bohanna has been told he could come to Clemson and "just play his game."
"That's pretty cool that I could just come and play the way that I play," he said. "We run a 5-2 defense here and I play kind of safety. I can play outside a lot too. I can play both positions. I can cover a lot and I like to stop that isolation too."
As a junior, Bohanna had 64 total tackles with 29 solo, one sack and one interception. Participated in the Junior U.S. Army All-American Combine.
The No. 26 rated middle linebacker is a three star prospect according to Scout.com.
