Turner Loves Rain-Filled Trip to Georgia

ATHENS – The rain didn't drive away Landon Turner away from Georgia.

In fact, the Virginia native took in another last-second Bulldog victory – just out of the inclement weather.

"Georgia won 20-17 on a last second field goal and I really loved it down there. It was pouring rain before the game, then it stayed off for a while before raining in waves during the game. I was under the deck the whole game, so the rain did not affect my visit at all. I had a lot of fun," he said of the night.

The rain didn't effect his visit to Georgia like one might suspect. Turner had already visited the campus and taken a look around before the wet night in Athens. He said he enjoyed seeing the Bulldog crowd.

"I had seen the campus before when I was in camp so I knew I liked that, so my favorite part this time was just seeing Georgia play a game. It was a new experience, the crowd was great, and I could tell Georgia has a lot of tradition between the hedges," he said.

Turner had time to spend with the Dawgs' coaches before the game with the Sun Devils, and he said those conversations went well.

"I got to talk to Coach Searels, Coach Ball, and Coach Richt before the game," Turner said. "Coach Richt just said a quick hello to me, but I got to talk to Coach Searels and Coach Ball a little more. They asked me about my game on Friday, we talked about we have been doing, and we just talked about football and life."

Turner made certain to get the Dawgs his updated film for their review, too.

"I handed Georgia film of my first three games and I hope that helps me get an offer from them. I still have a lot of time so if I don't, then I will just keep on working for it," Turner said.

Most importantly, Turner said he felt wanted by the Bulldogs.

"I really feel like Georgia is looking at me, and I felt wanted by them while I was there. Georgia made a very positive impression on me and they were one of my favorites since the camp I attended and they still are," he said.
