Innes Talks ASU

Scottsdale (Az.) Saguaro OT Kody Innes reports back from Arizona State visit

Arizona State has done an outstanding job recruiting Scottsdale Saguaro High School for their talent. No less then four former Sabercats are on the Sun Devils current roster. ASU has targeted two current Sabercats in this year's recruiting class and both were on campus this weekend for official visits.

Three-star offensive tackle Kody Innes visited Tempe with teammate Jordan McDonald and while both have been on campus numerous times, both have said ASU will be one of the schools they pick from.

Innes talked to tonight about his official visit.

"I didn't really see a whole lot I haven't seen before. I have been to campus many times and been to a lot of games," he says. "One of the best things was being able to catch up with my old teammates. I don't get to see them much because they are all so busy with football."

Innes' host was former teammate Kody Koebensky, who battled with Innes in the trenches last year helping Saguaro win the 4A1 state title. "Kody and all of the guys had nothing but good things to say about ASU. They put a little pressure on me to try and get me to commit but not too much," Innes says.

Innes says that he got similar treatment from Dennis Erickson. "I talked with Erickson and Coach Smith a lot. They didn't put too much pressure on me, they said they don't belive in it but they told me how important it is for them to recruit the top local players and how their is enough talent around to help them win a national title."

Even if full court press was put on him, it didn't look like he would have pulled the trigger. He has one more visit in the making and could see another school before it is all said and done.

"I am going to visit UCLA. I don't have the date scheduled yet but am going to visit there. I also may visit Nebraska but am not sure because it is so far away and my parents wouldn't get to see me play as much," Innes comments.

Innes seems to be firm on the idea of taking more visits, so do not expect a choice from the 6-4 280 pounder anytime soon.
