Carpenter Headed to Lubbock

The Red Raiders are hard at work getting ready to face the Texas A&M Aggies, and the South Plains is prepping for an exciting weekend. Recruits from across the country are headed to Lubbock to watch the game, including standout offensive tackle Beau Carpenter, who committed to Texas Tech in June.

Sulphur Springs offensive tackle Beau Carpenter is gearing up for his official visit to Texas Tech this weekend, and says he couldn't be more excited to get to the South Plains and take in the atmosphere during one of the Red Raiders' most exciting rivalry games of the year.

"I'm actually heading out to Tech this weekend for my official visit," Carpenter said. "I hear I picked a good one. I'm flying out Saturday morning with [Texas Tech DE commit] Jackson Richards."

Since committing to the Red Raiders in June, Carpenter says that he hasn't picked up any new offers. Big 12 foe Oklahoma State had been pursuing him pretty heavily, but he says that right now things are fairly quiet on the recruiting front.

"OSU was on me pretty hard for a while, but they just recently let off.

"The only thing that's new is I got an invite to a Max Emfingers' All American Bowl. It's January 9th. They said they're trying to lock the place to be at SMU Stadium at the moment."

The talented lineman says his season is going well, despite Sulphur Springs losing the last two games after starting the season out at 5-0. As an integral part of last year's state championship team, Carpenter is hoping they can repeat their success in the playoffs.
