Langford Talks Michigan Visit

Westland (MI) John Glenn RB Jeremy Langford is one of the hottest players in the state of Michigan right now. The talented runner is posting big numbers and starting to garner attention from a few high majors, including Michigan. GoBlueWolverine caught up with Langford to get the latest on where things stand in his recruitment, his thoughts on his visit to Ann Arbor last weekend, and more.

Sam Webb:  I want you to tell me how your visit when to Michigan this past weekend.

Jeremy Langford:  "It was good."

Sam Webb:  Did they get a chance to talk to you very much?

Jeremy Langford:  "They talked to me before the game and he was saying, ‘you play so hard!' "

Sam Webb:  Which coach was it?  Was it the head coach, Coach Rodriguez or the running backs coach?

Jeremy Langford:  "I think it was the recruiting coordinator for Michigan."

Sam Webb:  Did they talk to you at all about what position they're looking at you for?

Jeremy Langford:  "No."

Sam Webb:  So they didn't get into that at all.  So was that your first time ever being at Michigan?

Jeremy Langford:  "Yeah that was my first time."

Sam Webb:  What did you think?  What did you think of your first time in The Big House?

Jeremy Langford:  "Yeah I liked it."

Sam Webb:  Did you grow up a fan of any particular school?

Jeremy Langford:  "No."

Sam Webb:  So where besides Michigan have you been so far?

Jeremy Langford:  "Michigan State and Michigan that's pretty much it."

Sam Webb:  How did those two visits compare?

Jeremy Langford:  "I don't know, but I like both of them though.  They're both nice."

Sam Webb:  Has either school talked to you about a scholarship offer; what are they saying about that?

Jeremy Langford:  "They're saying keep playing and it'll come sooner or later."

Sam Webb:  As far as the schools that have offered; what schools have offered you so far?

Jeremy Langford:  "Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Illinois State."

Sam Webb:  What other schools are talking to you?

Jeremy Langford:  "Colorado.  I think that's it."

Sam Webb:  Do you have a timeline for when you'd like to make a decision by a certain date or anything like that?

Jeremy Langford:  "No I don't have one."

Sam Webb:  Tell me what you looking for in a school?  What are the things that you want to see in the school that you go to?

Jeremy Langford:  "Distance from home that's pretty much it right now."

Sam Webb:  So you want to pretty close to home?

Jeremy Langford:  "Yeah."

Sam Webb:  What about style of play; is there a certain kind of offense that you like, a certain kind of defense that you like?

Jeremy Langford:  "No particulars.  Just run the ball."

Sam Webb:  Let's talk about you on the football field, for people who haven't seen Jeremy Langford play; break down your game a little bit.  Tell me if I'm a scout in the stand what I see when I watch Jeremy Langford?

Jeremy Langford:  "Speed, power, that's pretty much it."

Sam Webb:  What's your height, weight and 40 time?

Jeremy Langford:  "6'1", 190, 4.42 in the 40."

Sam Webb:  When was the last time you were timed in the 40?

Jeremy Langford:  "At Michigan State in the summertime."

Sam Webb:  Is there a running back in college or the pros that you compare yourself too?

Jeremy Langford:  "No."

Sam Webb:  As far as stats were concerned, I know we was talking about this last week, but I can't remember; how many yards do you have?

Jeremy Langford:  "2000."

Sam Webb:  Do you know how many touchdowns?

Jeremy Langford:  "24."

Sam Webb:  2000 yards and 24 touchdowns.  So is that a school record?

Jeremy Langford:  "The yardage not yet, but I'm getting close though."

Sam Webb:  I know earlier you said that you really didn't have any offers coming into the season.  Did you feel like heading in that you would do this well?

Jeremy Langford:  "Yeah, because I worked so hard in the offseason."

Sam Webb:  How did things go for you last year, I know as far as the media is concerned, not a lot of folks knew about you until you sort of busted out this year, so what was going on with you last year?

Jeremy Langford:  "Nothing.  Just mediocre season."

Sam Webb:  What do you think is responsible for this big break out, is it just all the work that you've put in, in the offseason?

Jeremy Langford:  "It's the whole team."

Sam Webb:  What kind of work did you do?  What exactly did you do to get prepared for this year?

Jeremy Langford:  "Weight room.  Summer school classes get ready for scholarships and all that stuff."

Sam Webb:  Are you open to playing another position in college?

Jeremy Langford:  "Yes."

Sam Webb:  What other position do you play?

Jeremy Langford:  "Safety."

GoBlueWolverine will have more from Langford in the coming weeks.
