"Louisiana-Monroe called me last night and they offered me," said Brandon. "Coach Rich sent my highlight to them last week. They said they got it Tuesday and they watched it on Wednesday.
"After they showed it to the defensive coordinator, they decided to offer me."
Talk of some possible playing time as a true freshman is something Brandon enjoys hearing. He believes he has he chance to fit in very early in his career.
"They run the same defense we do and they like to send the linebackers a lot," said Keel. "I love blitzing. It's a free kill shot on somebody. I am real glad to get this offer because I know I have a chance to go somewhere that I might have the chance to play as a freshman."
ULM's offer came out of the blue, so Brandon has not had the chance to research the program yet. He hopes to take the guided tour very soon.
"They want me to come up there next weekend, but I have the Mississippi All-Star game practice on Sunday," said Keel. "I am not sure if I am going to make it yet. They told me to let them know the first of the week. I am going to get up there even if it's not that weekend."
Brandon's biggest fan is probably his father. The two shared some nice moments when word of the Warhawks' offer came.
"My dad was real excited about it," said Keel. "It's been a long process, so it's a big relief for both of us. He wants us to take a trip up there real soon and go check everything out."
