Beaulieu Commitment Big for Syracuse

Syracuse University picked up a commitment from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., defensive lineman Max Beaulieu this week and while locking down a three-star prospect might seem like just another player on the surface, this commitment is one that should excite Orange fans.

When Syracuse picked up a commitment from defensive end Max Beaulieu this week, they not only got a 6-foot-3, 240-pound edge-rusher with a three-star rating, they dipped into one of the deepest talent pools in the country as well, and beat out some impressive programs like Nebraska, Tennessee, Arkansas, Wisconsin, South Carolina and Purdue while doing it.

Under Greg Robinson the Orange had problems keeping their own big targets from going to the Sunshine State like Latavius Murray, however under Head Coach Doug Marrone they've already secured two players from Florida and may be building a pipeline into University School of Nova South. This should be great news for Syracuse fans who want their proud tradition of winning. Further more, keeping a player from the south away from SEC programs like South Carolina, Tennessee and Arkansas is a huge score and something that shouldn't be underestimated.

Max Beaulieu finished his junior season with 30 tackles, five sacks and one fumble caused.
