Bulldogs Land Another In Stater

Coach Dan Mullen continues to make good on his promise to focus his recruiting efforts on Mississippi. From the moment he was hired, Mullen vowed to give Mississippi's high school players the chance to stay home and play for their home state University. Mullen made another player from the Magnolia State's dream come true earlier today when he accepted the commitment of All-Star Corvell Harrison.

Harrison was offered a scholarship from Mississippi State this morning. It was an offer he accepted immediately.

"I'm so glad for him," said Harrison's sister Courtney Gay. "I just want to thank God. I am just so happy for him. I am about to cry.

"This has always been his dream since we were little. I am just so happy for him."

The Bulldogs offer comes on the heels of a solid week of practice last week for the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game.

"We went to the All-Star game and it was nice," said Courtney. "He did alright in the game, but he felt like he could have done better. That's just how he is."

In addition to being selected to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game, Corvell has been named to the WDAM All-Area team.

Harrison's commtment to Mississippi State is the 16th public declaration for the 2010 signing class.

Corvell is the tenth commitment towards that class that played his high school ball in the Magnolia State of Mississippi.
