Onyeali pledges to Sun Devils

Recruiting wise 2009 will end a very positive note for Arizona State as 6-foot-1 240-pound three-star defensive end Nduka Onyeali verbaled to the maroon and gold. Devils Digest talked to ASU's newest member of the 2010 class shortly after his decision.

"I just knew that Arizona State was the place for me," Nduka Onyeali said Wednesday night. "It's hard to explain, I just knew it and that's why I committed."

The Denver Mullen standout said that he's being recruited as defensive end, but could play linebacker as well.

"I really like how their defense plays," Onyeali said. "I can bring some rush speed to the team and I just hope I can contribute once I get there."

In a recent interview the defensive end said that he was going to choose between ASU and Syracuse and that he would still consider TCU and was actually set to host the Horned Frogs coaches next month. Luckily for ASU he chose not to wait that long.

Onyeali is ASU's 18th know commit of the 2010 recruiting class.
