The Blitz is a feature that will offer quick hitters and recruiting nuggets from time to time. As we approach Signing Day 2010, things change quickly in recruiting, so stay tuned to The Blitz for the latest.
Blake Sims: Sims de-committed from Alabama last Friday and re-opened his recruitment. He has now decided that he will still take his official visit to Alabama on the weekend of January 15. Tennessee will likely get an official visit from him the following weekend. He also lists Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and Michigan as schools under consideration.
Dexter Morant: Morant tries to keep to himself much of the time and there have been rumors floating around about him looking around. Well, those rumors are true. The Georgia commitment is now looking at Clemson and South Carolina has not been ruled out either. UGA still does not have a Defensive Coordinator, Secondary Coach, Linebacker Coach or Defensive End coach, so that has allowed others to step in and try to steal him. Morant sticking with Georgia at this time seems to be about 60-40.
Kadron Boone: Boone still has his name on the Texas Tech commitment list for now, but will it remain there through Signing Day? Right now Louisville and LSU have a good shot at landing the Florida wide receiver, but he still lists Florida, Georgia, Miami, and Notre Dame as well. He said it is all about the style of offense Tommy Tubberville brings to Texas Tech. If it suits him, then he could stay with the Red Raiders, but it seems the odds of him leaving are better than him staying as of January 12, 2010.
Daunte Carr: Carr has been committed to Stanford for months, but Scout broke the news of him re-opening his recruitment late Monday night. He has yet to hear back from the admission board at Stanford, so he does not know if he is approved or not at this time. He is now going to take a look at a number of schools to make sure he does not wait too late and miss the opportunity to sign with someone else on Signing Day.
Da' Rick Rogers: Rogers was visited by Tennessee last week and at that time he agreed to visit UT on January 22. Georgia is set to host Rogers this weekend and Florida could be a school he visits on January 29. He still says he is 100 percent committed to Georgia, so we will have to wait and see if any other visits to in fact take place after he returns from Athens this weekend.
Shon Coleman: Coleman is still an Auburn commitment but he is scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend and Ole Miss the weekend of January 21. Auburn still has the lead, but some thing Coleman is looking around a little more than he lets on.
Christian Green: Green will not make a decision until after he visits Florida on the weekend of January 29. He is set to visit Florida this weekend and then FSU the last weekend of the month. Look for a decision a day or two before Signing Day.
Michael Taylor: Taylor took a surprising official visit to Florida last weekend and the Gators are in it now for the Georgia linebacker. He is still committed to Tennessee, but Florida, South Florida, and North Carolina State are still in the hunt.
Adrian Coxson: Coxson is a long time Penn State commitment, but he went on record with Scout Tuesday morning and stated "I've de-committed from Penn State". Florida is one to watch and he has also visited Georgia, but do not rule out Louisville getting involved here.
