Roderick Byers Profile

There's nothing like the feeling that recruits get when they receive that first scholarship offer. Well that feeling took place today for 2011 Northwestern High DE Roderick Byers. The 6'4 250 pound prospect gave SCPrepNation.com a buzz today to give us the breaking news.

"I got my first offer today. South Carolina offered me. Coach Lawing their defensive line coach offered me after watching my highlight tape," Byers said.

The offer from the Gamecocks very well could be followed by more in the near future apparently as Byers sent film out to most of the schools who've either shown him interest or who he has interest in now. The response he's gotten so far has been quite positive.

"Every school I sent my film to said it was impressive so I expect more offers very soon."

Stay tuned to SCPrepNation.com as we'll sit down with Byers shortly to discuss further in-depth just what schools he's really feeling at this juncture in his recruitment. The 2011 standout had a strong showing last year at the Scout.com combine in Charlotte and it was apparent to us then that he had the tools to become a high major prospect. Now we're seeing that observation come to fruition. Stay tuned for more from SCPrepNation.com and the Scout.com team.
