Why Alabama: "Alabama just had everything I wanted. They have everything in football, everything in academics, and just everything I need and want in a college. I loved the atmosphere, I loved the way they practiced, I loved how the coaches communicated, and I loved everything about Alabama. It is the perfect fit for me.
"Coach Saban looked at me in the eyes when he was talking to me, and he was honest with me about everything we talked about. I am going to get to wear No. 2 just like I did in high school. They are already starting to call me The Deuce around Alabama, and they compared me to David Palmer. They said I am a little bigger than him, but they want to use me like he was used.
"I just want to play for Coach Saban. I trust him, he trusts me to help his team, and I am Alabama all the way. It is a no-brainer for me to be at Alabama."
Strengths/Improvement: "I am going to come in as a wide receiver, but I am willing to do whatever I can to help the team win. They already have me in the equation over there for the offense, and they know how they want to use me. I am just going to play where they need me and help them win another National Championship. I know I will compete for the punt return and kick-off return duties as soon as I get there, and I like the way Coach Saban wants to use me."
Coach Quotes (Head Coach Bruce Miller): "Blake's done a tremendous job for us. We challenged him to step forward and lead this team, and he's done a terrific job. He's grown up as a player. Blake started for us as a junior. He's the most athletic player I've ever been around. He can do it all.
"He can play anywhere on the field, He's played defensive back here as well, and I think he'll do fine wherever they decide to play him. Blake's that good of an athlete with great instincts and ball skills.
"Blake's a good person. He's trustworthy, fun-loving, just a first class guy. He's improved a whole lot in his school work. The first couple of years were a challenge for him, but he's really stepped up and is focused on getting where he needs to be."
Andrew Bone says: "Sims is a very exciting athlete with the ball in his hands. He is explosive on the offensive side of the ball and can make a lot of plays happen as a field general. He is very versatile and could play on either side of the ball in Tuscaloosa."
Richard Stover contributed to this report.
"He can do it all."
