Buckeyes Offer Caputo

Michael Caputo is as humble as a young man as you'll find in the recruiting world. A few months ago, Caputo was just hoping that he would be a D-I prospect and now he is considered one of the top 150 prospects in the nation.

Imperial (Pa.) West Allegheny four-star outside linebacker Michael Caputo has reeled in another big offer, this time it is Ohio State.

"They (Ohio State) sent me the offer in the mail," Caputo said. "They told Coach (Bob) Palko that they were going to offer. Coach Tressel came into the school last week to watch film with Coach Palko.

"I haven't spoken with Ohio State much," Caputo explained. "I'm thinking about going to a junior day there or heading out for a spring practice. I have spoken with Coach (Luke) Fickell a couple times, but we haven't established much yet."

Caputo was excited about the offer from the Buckeyes to go along with offers from Penn State, Pittsburgh and Purdue.

"I was very excited when Ohio State offered me," Caputo stated. "OSU is a very good school. I really wasn't expecting it at all. I was really hoping that Ohio State or Pittsburgh would offer me and now they both have."

Caputo is excited, but don't expect a quick decision from him.

"I probably won't make a decision very early, Caputo said. "I'll look at the schools and evaluate each of them. Football is football, but I want to check out the campuses, the academics and what the daily life is like at each of the schools."

So what is next for Caputo?

"North Carolina State and Michigan State may be offering me very soon," Caputo said. "I'm just lifting right now and probably going to a few junior days."
