"My dad received an e-mail from Coach Bollman, and he asked me to call him whenever I had a minute," Bobek said of the offer. "I immediately called him, and he got right to the point, and said I had a scholarship offer from Ohio State. He said they watched my film a few more times, and they said I was too good of a player not to offer."
"I was pretty overwhelmed, and told him thank you, and then I was pretty speechless," he said laughing. "I'm still going to take visits in the next few weeks, and I really need to think this over. I probably won't be making my decision soon, because I want to be sure. I'll be coming back to Ohio State in the spring for practice, or maybe the spring game."
Bobek took two visits over the weekend, going to Purdue on Saturday, and heading to Ohio State on Sunday.
"Our visit to Ohio State was great, and I enjoyed meeting with (assistant coach) Doc Tressel, and seeing the campus," he stated. "I was there Sunday, and stayed over to Monday. My dad and I watched them work out, without the coaches, and that was good. Then we sat down with Coach Bollman, and we talked about how Ohio State does things. I knew they were interested, but I didn't think they would be offering so soon."
"I had a great time at Purdue and I think a lot of their coaching staff," he stated. "They are great guys, and I think they have that program headed in the right direction. They offered a teammate of mine, and they said an offer could be coming soon for me. I attended a basketball game, and toured the facilities, and really liked it."
