Lomax Talks About Maryland Offer

Scout.com talked with 2011 prospect Jordan Lomax from DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, MD. The talented WR/DB is excited about his new offer from Maryland and says they will be in it throughout the process.

Jordan Lomax got called to talk with his coach during school and heard the good news. He had received his second offer, the other coming from Pittsburgh, from his home state school. Lomax is very happy and already will be back on campus tomorrow for a big basketball game.

"My coach called me down to talk with him," said Lomax. "He said he just got off the phone with Coach (James) Franklin and said that Maryland offered me. I was really excited. I have always been a fan of them and I am familiar with the coaches and some of the players. There are a few players there that I have played with in high school. It is close to home and I am comfortable there. They will definitely be a big factor in my recruiting to the end."

Lomax plays wide receiver and defensive back but Maryland has decided to recruit him on defense.

"I don't know if it will be at corner back or safety but they definitely want me to play defensive back."

Lomax already had plans on visiting after hearing the news. He chose a good time to do it with a big basketball game on the agenda.

"I am going to get home from school, have some dinner and then go to the Duke versus Maryland basketball game. It is a later game and the atmosphere should be great. I am sure I will see the coaches there too."

After track season Lomax plans on getting back to Maryland for a couple of spring practices.
