"I got the offer from West Virginia about two and a half weeks ago," Pitts said. "I went down to their junior day this weekend with Ejuan Price. We had a real nice trip. We got to check out their facilities and we watched a practice. They like me at cornerback, so I spent some time with Coach (David) Lockwood and my area recruiter Dave McMichael.
"It was a smaller group with like 25-30 recruits," Pitts continued. "I'm very interested in them right now. They told me they have five cornerbacks and in two years they will only have three. They really like the way I play the game and they feel I can contribute right away."
The Hawkeyes became the first Big Ten team to offer Pitts.
"Iowa offered me about two weeks ago," Pitts stated. "They sent an offer to the school, so I called them and me and Coach (Ken) O'Keefe. Coach O'Keefe recruits this area for them. I like Iowa and the communication that I have had with them. They told me I was very high on their board at cornerback and as a return man. I want to go out and visit there."
Maryland will be receiving a visit from Pitts next weekend.
"Maryland offered me back in early March," Pitts said. "I'm going there next Saturday for their spring game. They like me at running back and on special teams. They feel that I am a big play guy like they need there. They said I can do multiple things like run screens, run different routes out of the backfield or in the slot and I can run the ball, so I'm not one dimensional. The running backs coach there (John) Donovan likes me a lot."
