Eddie Johnson visits A-Day

Eddie Johnson, running back from Selma, Ala., took an unofficial visit to Auburn to attend their A-Day game. He talked about the trip to and his interest in the Tiger program.

"I went to Auburn for A-Day," said Eddie Johnson. "It was a good visit. I liked it up there. It was like last time. The atmosphere was good for the game. We were kind of closed off from everyone.

"The crowd was nice. The outside linebacker, No. 21, was good. We are friends. I thought he did really well."

Johnson had to depart the campus sooner than he preferred.

"I talked to coach Boulware," he said. "He said he was happy I came up. He wanted me to stay after the game, but I had to go back. I think the coaches have nice personalities. They seem like they will help you not just with football, but with anything."

The in-state athlete talked more about his interest in the Tigers.

"I like everything," Johnson said. "I like the school, football team and academics. I like a lot of the small things. I mainly like the academics. I might not get a chance to play in the NFL. I plan to major in Civil Engineering. Auburn is one of the best schools in the state for that major."

Johnson had a solid junior campaign with 560 yards rushing and 137 yards receiving with eight total touchdowns. He had 78 tackles from the linebacker position with eight sacks and one interception.
