Rome MVP Camp: Award Winners

ROME, Ga. - A lot of talented athletes spent time at Darlington this past Saturday participating in the Rome MVP Camp. At the end of the event, a number of prospects took home awards. Find out who the best were right here.

Top 2011 Performer: Chris Conley – WR – Dallas (GA) North Paulding - 2011
Quick Hitter from Camp: Conley had an outstanding day and he ran away with this award. He ran a 4.48 in the 40 yard dash and he could not be covered at wide receiver.

Top Underclassman: Jordan Jenkins – DE – Hamilton (GA) Harris County - 2012
Quick Hitter from Camp: Jenkins was unblockable at this event. He has such a burst off the ball that his speed alone put him into the backfield before being touched a couple of times.

Top Quarterback: Chad Voytik – Cleveland (TN) – Cleveland – 2012
Quick Hitter from Camp: Voytik was in a battle with Tony Daniels for this award, but his final throw gave him the edge in the end. Voytik was consistent all day – he threw a beautiful deep ball and he was very accurate.

Top Running Back: Kenyan Drake – Powder Springs (GA) Hillgrove – 2012
Quick Hitter from Camp: Drake turned it on early when he ran the fastest time in the 40 yard dash. He was timed at 4.40 seconds. He took that speed with him the rest of the day and he ran by defenders and showed wide receiver like hands.

Top Wide Receiver: Chris Conley – Dallas (GA) North Paulding – 2011
Quick Hitter from Camp: Conley was the only prospect at this event to take home multiple awards and he earned each of them. He was dominating the competition and when he wasn't, he was giving underclassmen pointers on how to become better receivers.

Top Offensive Lineman: David Andrews – C – Norcross (GA) Wesleyan – 2011
Quick Hitter from Camp: Andrews came to work at this camp. He brought a lot of intensity, he wanted to get as many reps as he could, and he was looking to learn from the coaches that worked the camp. He dominated up front, he showed great punch, and he was very physical.

Top Defensive Lineman: Grady Jarrett – DT – Conyers (GA) Rockdale County – 2011
Quick Hitter from Camp: Jarrett just brings it. He goes hard every play, he plays with a lot of intensity, and he is determined to be the best. He plays with great leverage, he is very strong at the point of attack, and showed a great first step off the ball in Rome.

Top Linebacker: Amarlo Herrera – College Park (GA) North Clayton – 2011
Quick Hitter from Camp: Herrera likes to compete and that is evident. He has been committed to Georgia for months, but has been to numerous camps/combines since then. We have seen him about four times in the past four months and he looked his best at the Rome MVP Camp. He really looked more comfortable in his pass drops, he showed good change of direction, and his instincts stood out as well.

Top Defensive Back: Trevus Edwards – CB – Fayetteville (GA) Fayette County – 2012
Quick Hitter from Camp: Edwards showed very good footwork and he was able to flip his hips to cover some of the top wideouts in Rome. He is a little undersized and needs to get stronger, but at the end of the camp, he showed the best coverage skills. He is only a sophomore and a new name to many, but keep an eye on this one.

Many other prospects stood out in Rome and Scout will have much more on them and the Rome MVP Camp throughout the week.
