Dorsett Would Like To Visit Ducks

Explosive and dynamic are two appropriate descriptions of Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas three-star wide receiver, Phil Dorsett. Oregon football predicates itself on these attributes possessed by Dorsett, making him a target for the Duck coaching staff on the recruiting trail. Though he has yet to be offered by Oregon, Dorsett told eDuck that he would like to visit if he were pledged.

Do you currently have an offer from Oregon?

"No I don't."

Which coaches from Oregon have you had contact with since the recruiting process started for you?

"Chip Kelly -- he's just been sending me e-mails, but I haven't really talked with him. Coach (Scott) Frost came to our school once during the first day of spring practice and that's about it."

What is your overall interest in Oregon at this point?

"I'm interested in Oregon, they just never offered me. They send letters to my house, but I never really got anything that shows they're interested in me, so I don't really know."

Is there anything that catches your eye when you think of Oregon?

"I know that they have great facilities -- I hear about that -- and I like their offense a lot. I like their spread and how they run the ball a lot with their running backs and I like the quarterbacks too."

When you spoke with Coach Frost was there any discussion about getting you out for a visit?

"If I were to hear more from them and if they offered me, I would like to take a visit out would be fun, but I don't really know yet."

How would you describe yourself as a player?

"I know I can run good routes, I've got great hands, I use my speed to get open a lot, and I may not be tall, but I can play like I'm tall most of the time."

Would you compare yourself to anyone at the collegiate or professional level?

"Probably Percy Harvin because I can run the ball too like Percy. I can run the ball out of the backfield too."

What are you looking for in a program?

"Basically just see how the players are, see if it's a nice atmosphere for me to be around...see if I can live there because I have to live there for the next four years of my life."

Is distance a factor for you at all?

"No, I don't think it will be."

Have you given any thought as to what you might want to major in when you get to college?

"Yes. Either exercise science or communications."

What offers do you currently holds from other schools?

"Recently I just got South Florida and Syracuse and that's about it."

Has there been any other schools that you've been hearing a lot from?

"I hear a lot from Ohio State, North Carolina, Miami, and Florda. I hear a lot from them the most."

Do you have a top five comprised of schools you've heard from or schools that you'd like to hear from?

"Probably North Carolina, Miami, Ohio State, Florida, and Georgia."

Which unofficial or Junior Day visits have you taken and do you plan on taking any this summer?

"The only unofficial I've been on is to Miami. I went to one of their spring practices. But I'm looking to go up to some different places this summer...I know North Carolina and Ohio State for sure and I've got to plan the other ones. I don't really know."
