One camp, one offer for Long

Hunter Long has a mission and that is to participate three camps in seven days and leave with three offers. His first camp was Monday and he is one for one.

"I went to Southern Miss for a few hours and competed in the agility drills, speed drills, and one on ones. I felt like I did good and I was offered by Southern Miss after I left," said Hunter Long.

"I talked to Coach Kap (Chris Kapilovic - Offensive Line Coach) first on the phone and he told me about the offer. Coach [Barney] Farrar (Tight Ends Coach) sent me an email asking me to call Coach [Larry] Fedora (Head Coach), so I called him and we talked for a while. He told me about the offer too and it felt good."

He has some connections to Southern Miss and he is interested in them.

"Chris Campbell is the quarterback at Southern Miss and I am good friends with him. He played with my brother (Austin Long) at Briarcrest Christian and I have been down to a game and hung out with him last year. He took me out and I liked the town and the city. It is a lot of fun at Southern Miss."

Long, a 6-foot-4, 290 pound center out of Memphis, Tn. was targeting this offer and it felt good when he got it.

"This was my first camp I participated in this summer and it was my goal to get an offer," he explained. "I felt good when I left and I expected I would get an offer from Southern Miss. I got it and it felt good."

The offer from the Golden Eagles is Long's sixth. He hopes to pick up number seven on Saturday when he camps at Georgia. He will then go for another one on Monday at Mississippi State.
