Perry Lands Buckeye Offer

Olentangy (OH) linebacker Josh Perry was offered a scholarship by Ohio State, after an impressive camp performance earlier this week. It is the fourth verbal offer for Perry, one of the top prospects in the 2012 Ohio class. Perry was earlier offered by Duke, Cincinnati and Michigan State. Bill Greene has Perry's reaction to the Buckeye offer.

What happens after a tremendous camp performance? For Olentangy's Josh Perry, it meant a verbal offer from Ohio State, which Perry has confirmed.

"I was given an offer from Ohio State," Perry stated Sunday evening. "I'm really excited to receive it. Ohio State is my dream program."

"Coach (Jim) Tressel always has a great team on the field, and he's a man of great character," he continued. "More importantly, he develops character in his players, and that means a lot to me. I'm just really happy."

Perry, 6-foot-4, 225-pounds, is one of the top prospects in the 2012 Ohio class, and holds offers from Duke, Cincinnati and Michigan State. He is also a top-notch student, carrying a self-reported 3.5 GPA.
