Sources Indicate Twins Decision Is In

With a public announcement set for Thursday, sources close to the recruitment of Washington (D.C.) Dunbar twins Vance and Vernard Roberts indicate that a decision is in and one school is going to be very happy. has learned from a source close to the players that Vance Roberts and Vernard Roberts of Dunbar High School in Washington, D.C. will commit to West Virginia. The players will officially notify the Mountaineers of their decision on Thursday, July 1. The twins had said throughout the recruiting process that they wanted to play college football together and they feel that West Virginia offers them just that opportunity.

The source tells that the players felt an "overwhelming" sense of loyalty from the Mountaineer coaching staff. Vance Roberts will play cornerback at the next level while brother Vernard will be a running back. The two players performed well at the TEST Sports Clubs Premier Showcase event in February at Rutgers University, where they went up against many of the region's top players.

The brothers had narrowed down their final two to Michigan State and West Virginia. They visited Morgantown in March and felt very comfortable.

According to the source, the brothers are solid in their decision and won't take an official visit other than West Virginia, unless "Michigan or Ohio State" were to offer the twins. Then both the Roberts' would be interested in taking official visits to those programs in the fall.

The commitment of the brothers more than doubles the number of commitments reeled in by head coach Bill Stewart this year as tight end Cody Clay is the only other commit for the program so far.
